Creating an Affirming Environment for Diverse Cultures in Our School

How do we create an affirming environment for diverse cultures in our school? This has been a growing question at our school, Randall Middle School, over the past few years. Through hard conversations with all stakeholders and data digging, we found that in order to create an affirming environment in our school we need to focus on four key factors. The key factors include relationships, academic equity, staff training, and creating a safe place for students.
