How Relational Trust, Teacher Collaboration, and Teacher Retention Are Intertwined

The focus of this project was to create a Climate and Culture Committee led mainly by teachers to increase relational trust, teacher collaboration, and teacher retention. The committee created a Climate and Culture Mission Statement to use as a guide as they created team-building activities, surveyed staff members, and reflected on what had worked. In spite of our high student academic performance, teachers decide to leave Carson at the end of the school year. Additionally, teacher collaboration from the 5Essentials shows as Weak. As the COVID pandemic ravaged, a need for social emotional support was accentuated in our school. Teachers and administrators needed social emotional support as they worked together to increase teacher collaboration and relational trust.
