Taking Flight to Greater Heights

Jackson Nicolas Cahn Fellow 2023

The expression “greater heights” is often used to describe success or high-level achievement or accomplishment. This is appropriately compared with the progress of students and schools in the educational format. However, comparing this to the aviation process reveals a complex analogy.

The act of flying is not a feat that happens haphazardly. There is a substantial amount of preparation and groundwork that takes place before takeoff. The overall logistics involved in planes taking off is quite intricate. Factors such as the flight plan, preparedness of the pilot, maintenance of the aircraft, etc., must be considered.

Similarly, schools across the nation undergo considerable preparation behind the scenes to ensure that students, educators, and schools not only take off successfully but also soar to greater heights. This theme aptly describes what took place at Earlington Heights Elementary during the 2023–2024 school year.
